THE GUEST HOUSE Poem by Rumi
This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.
Be grateful for whatever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
SPIRITUAL HEALING
The Sufi way of spiritual healing has been used and developed by gnostics who discovered a living connection with God's immeasurable and limitless Power, Love, and Mercy to heal. By invocation and special prayers that have been preserved to this day, the sonic resonance summons the Divine's assistance and presence. The prophet Mohammad, peace be on him said "For everything illness there is a cure." The Sufi's look for healing the heart to heal the body as it is believed the spirit came before the body.
